DTM Decimate
DTMs can now be simplified during creation.
On the Grid / DTM tab, in the DTM Create group, when you select New DTM (form) to generate a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) from the strings or data points in an input file, a new Planar Decimate Tolerance option allows you to better manage DTM creation from very large data sets, such as LiDAR.
The value entered (in grid units) on the Options tab of the form, is the maximum amount that the triangulation is allowed to move in any direction after vertices are removed. If no planar tolerance is specified, a default value of 0.01 will be applied automatically.
Specifying a large planar tolerance will significantly alter the nature of the triangulation.
Preview
When a transform projection plane is being defined, a Preview button is enabled on the Create DTM form. When you click this button, the working plane is highlighted in Vizex and can be rotated to interactively populate the inputs for Strike and Dip.
These values are now editable in the Properties Pane. Note that the preview shape is not editable, nor is it movable. Its Min and Max properties are therefore disabled in the Properties Pane.
