Parcels

The parcels option in the MM to Whittle Proteus and MM to MineMax dialogs, allow multiple ore parcels to be written to a pit optimisation block. The size of the optimised block is defined by the East, North and Z multipliers. That is, if these are all set to 4 and the blocks in the block model are 2 x 2 x 2 then the optimisation block will be 8 x 8 x 8. Where blocks in the block model are different sizes, the multipliers are applied to generate optimisation blocks that are multiples of the largest block in the block model.

The old 4D interface automatically wrote parcels for each different ore type defined in the blocks and exported to each optimisation block. In the MM to Whittle Proteus and MM to MineMax interfaces a parcel is written for each block that is transferred to each optimisation block. Where a block is part ore, additional parcels are written defining the waste, component. Any internal air is taken into account in this process.

If you don't select Parcels, each block is written to an optimisation block. This can significantly increase the time taken to process the pit optimisation model.
