Edit Data

On the File tab, in the Edit Data group:

• click Sort to sort a file by the values in one or more fields. Given the sequential nature of string data, be careful when sorting strings. Make sure there is a field in the file that can be used to unsort the data.

• click Modify File Structure to change the structure of a file by adding and deleting fields, or by changing field properties such as Type and Units.

• click Find Duplicate Records to check a file for the existence of duplicate records, delete the duplicate records or flag them as duplicate records, in either the Input file or an Output file.

  

 

• click Create Lookup Table to create a new Lookup table.

• click Compile Lookup Table to convert the Lookup table file to a Lookup Binary (.lbn) file with a special index.

• click Calculate to select the file you want to perform a dynamic expression calculation on. Field name variables, constants and functions are available for selection.

  

• click Calculate to select the file you want to perform a calculation on. Common maths functions, and functions applicable to the management of earth science data, are provided.
