Apply different compositing methods

Sometimes the default Compositing Method you choose for Character and Numeric fields are not suitable for individual fields in the source files. In such cases you can apply different compositing methods to individual fields while applying the default method to the remaining fields.

To do this:

  1. Select Source file A or Source file B in the Other Methods group, and then click the More button opposite.
  2. The two columns on the left had side of the dialog are for numeric fields and the column on the right is for character fields.
  3. Double-click in a response in one of the Field columns, and then select a field from the dialog that appears.
  4. For that field, choose a compositing method from the adjacent list.
  5. Repeat this process for as many fields as you like from each of the source files.
  6. Click Close to complete the process.
