Connectivity
A Data View, Plan View, Section View, or Correlation Diagram can provide hole information to a graphic report:
- If you click on a point representing a hole (or you select a hole record in a Data View), and an active report is detected, it will position a downhole report on that hole.
A Plan View, Section View, or Correlation Diagram can also provide polygon information:
- If you click inside a boundary, and an active report (that deals with lease summaries, for example) is detected, it can communicate the project code and the boundary code to a graphic report.
In the first case, the information sent to the drawing consists of the PROJECT code and the SITE ID. In the second case, the information sent to the drawing consists of the PROJECT code and the BOUNDARY (entity) code.
This information is used by the Graphic Reporter to find the appropriate record in the controlling dataset, in much the same way as the "Find" function would. (In fact, it is executing the Find function using the parameters supplied by the view.)
In order for connectivity to work, either a Data View, Plan View, Section View, or Correlation Diagram, and the Graphic Reporter must both be open, the Connectivity buttons must be activated on both ribbons, and the controlling dataset of the Graphic Reporter must contain a primary key that matches the Find parameters you have set up in advance.
