Geodetic Reference System
In a geodetic system, coordinates are expressed as latitude and longitude, based on a specified geodetic datum. The Australian Geodetic Datum (AGD84) is a good example of a geodetic datum.
A geodetic datum is defined in terms of an ellipsoid (spheroid) with dimensions that approximate the shape of the earth. The mathematical definitions of datums and ellipsoids are stored in the GB_SYS_CS_DATUM and GB_SYS_CS_ELLIPSOID tables respectively.
The More Details link in the Referenced Geodetic Datum section will open the Geodetic Datum Definitions form with all details displayed.
