Property Editor: Subreport
![]() |
Click the Subreport tool, on the Design Templates toolbar, to embed a subreport into a report. If substitution parameters are defined in the subreport, they will be prompted for when the parent report is executed. |
An option to apply an alignment of the subreport pane is provided on the Alignment tab |
The Sub Report tool allows you to:
- Design elements that are common to all reports, such as headers and footers, and edit them in one place.
- Display related data in a report without having to add extra datasets.
Identity
Enter a Name and a Description for the subreport.
Graphic Report
When you add a subreport template to a design sheet, the report name and the design sheet name are displayed. You can select a different design sheet for the same report, or select a different report and design sheet. Typically, this will be done when you have copied a subreport for re-use in another report, or on a different design sheet.
Size and Position
When you add a subreport to a design sheet, or resize or move the subreport pane interactively with the mouse, the Horizontal (X) and Vertical (Y) dimensions of the template (in millimetres or inches, depending on the page units) are shown in the Property Editor.
The default size is the minimum rectangle which fits all of the objects in the subreport.
Border Style
Choose whether to draw a border around the pane of the subreport, and if so, whether to draw a single border or double border line.
Visibility
You can toggle the visibility of the subreport on and off using the Hide this object check box.
